Yesterday
at the office, something strange happened... I was going out
for a cigarette and had my dog with me so he could get some air. A man,
a stranger, approached me and asked if he could borrow my dog... They
needed a dog in a photo they were going to shoot for an ad! In addition
to being my best friend and companion, my dog is now to be published in
three major newspapers here in Norway!
When I was a little girl, I didn't babysit but looked after dogs and
horses instead. At home, I was only allowed to have cats because of my
mother's allergies. After 20 years of petting any dogs I came across, I
finally decided I wanted a dog of my own. Working in a company that
permits dogs in the office helped the decision.
Puppies are wonderful, but I decided to look for a little older dog that
needed a new home. I wanted to know all the history of the dog so I
looked in the newspapers instead of going to the pound. All dogs I found
had a problem of some sort and I didn't feel experienced enough to
handle that. In the end, I found Samson on the Internet. He was dearly
loved by his previous owner, and had absolutely no problems at all but
had to spend too much time alone as his previous owner worked long
hours.
When I started my search for a dog, I imagined ending up with a medium
sized female of mixed breed. Instead I found a beautiful purebred male
of excellent pedigree! His only fault is that he is 2" too tall to be a
show dog ;-) But he is a lovely dog! He is with me almost 24 hours a day
and handles all situations beautifully. He loves everybody and gets
along with most dogs we meet. His only worry in life is my two cats. He
is terrified of them ;-)
