Watson
is a six year old mix. We think he is part Basenji and definitely
part Terrier. He came into our life when I needed a Birthday present for
my Brother three years ago. I ended up at a local shelter and found him
in the last cage. As soon as he looked into my eyes, I knew. He leapt
into the passenger side of my car and he did something I never saw him
do again, He howled, like a wolf at the moon. I knew he was happy, and
my Brother was thrilled with my choice. Watson is very lovable and
smart, He knows lots of tricks. He is pretty high strung, so he paces a
lot and makes this cute little squeaky noise. We believe that his
previous owners abused him because he is very skittish and wont let you
near his feet or ears. He is a wonderful watchdog and protector. Last
year when I was out walking Watson and Simon (my other dog is a Whippet)
a large dog broke off of his leash and came after Simon. Watson jumped
in front of Simon to protect him and got attacked himself. Watson
required 25 stitches and Simon was unharmed. I Love both of our dogs,
but Watson will always be special to me for just that reason.
