About Us
Clipper, the Dog of the Day
Name: Clipper
Age: Nineteen months old
Gender: Male Breed: Dalmatian
Home: Michigan, USA

We adopted Clipper from the Michigan Humane Society when he was about six months old. He was turned in because he was "too hyper." His previous family called him "Lucky", but we feel like we are the lucky ones.

Clipper has been an excellent and energetic addition to our family. The complaint of him being "too hyper" turned out to just be playful puppiness. He loves to run and play. His two favorite games are "fetch" and "eat my sister" (Kodie is a 26 month old chocolate lab - they love to wrestle with each other.) During the summer months, he loves to run free in an enclosed softball diamond with his sister. That usually knocks him out for the evening.

He is extremely intelligent; he already knows a wide array of tricks: come, sit, down, beg, take a bow, roll over, bang, give me a hug, speak and quiet; he's still learning "left turn" and "right turn" on our walks, but he's getting better (actually, I think he's just starting to memorize the route). He is also the most lovable and affectionate dog you can imagine. He spends the days napping at my feet under my desk and in the evenings, he curls up on his favorite lazy boy in the living room -- beware if you are sitting there. At night, he sleeps next to the bed, usually "fluffing" his pillow with 10-20 circles before he is ready to settle down. This is one of my favorite pictures of Clipper, just waking up from a nap on the Lazy Boy.
