I
had always wanted a Yorkie and even had her name picked out long
before we got her. When we went to pick her out, she was four months
old and although not the "typical" looking Yorkie because she was
heavy, she had a winning personality we couldn't refuse. Her
registered name was Terri's Tiny Tiffany Ann and we had a bond so
strong, she was my baby. She was my little shadow, following me
wherever I went, and when I sat down she was always right there with
me. When I was gone she would not eat or drink and waited for me on
our chair or on the bed. We bred her twice and she was a very loving
and protective mother. She was a little trooper and went camping with
us, even going on the long trails and rafting down the river. She
would sit on my lap by the camp fires and curl up next to us in our
tent at night. When she was seven, we had a house fire while we were
gone and she was the only pet out of four that survived. We lost our
five-year-old male Yorkie and two cats, one we had for sixteen years.
Her survival is the only thing that got me through the tragedy.
Although she developed heart problems later, we were blessed to have
her with us for four more years before she was taken from us. Her
ashes are in a special redwood box with her pictures on it, sitting on
my headboard shelf. Her place will be in my casket with me, because
there isn't any other place she or I would want her to be.
