This
is Gabe, our eleven-month-old Golden Retriever. Gabe was born and
lives in Colorado and is very much a Colorado dog. He has been on
numerous hikes, and likes to swim in ponds and creeks with other dogs.
He is special for so many reasons! He is incredibly affectionate and
loving, and so happy to see us when we come home. His tail wags so hard
his whole body wiggles. He loves to chew on toys, sticks, books, our
ears -- you name it.
Far from being a good watch dog, Gabe runs to the fence with tail
wagging whenever anyone walks by our yard. He's a very smart puppy, and
tilts his head inquisitively whenever he's asked a question that begins
with "Do you...": "Do you want to go for a walk?"
"Do you like enchiladas?" "Do you agree with Einstein's
Theory of Relativity?"
His other signature mannerism is the Gabe Nudge. He nudges things with
his nose (like our fireplace tools) to investigate how they will react,
and he nudges us to demand our attention. A power nudge from Gabe means
it's time to play now. Gabe is the number one attraction at our house,
and we have a website that can really only be referred to as
Gabe's Site because of all the Gabe
pictures we have there.
