I'm
Munkle, a female Border Terrier. I love to chase tennis balls, tear
apart soft toys, eat corn right off the stalk (that upsets my mistress
for some reason), jump into the water to get sticks (I don't bring them
back--what am I, a Retriever?), and pester groundhogs. We Border
Terriers are fierce Earth Dogs (the bottom photo is me "working" and
chasing a critter) and will follow foxes right into their lairs, if we
get the chance.
But we are also softies. I love to curl up on my master's lap, or sit on
little kids' feet and have my tummy scratched, and I am a volunteer with
People Animals Love in the Washington, D.C. area. We go to visit kids,
sick people, and retired people in hospitals and nursing homes. Most of
the PAL animals are dogs, but there are some cats, guinea pigs, mice,
birds, rabbits, and ferrets. The people - doctors and nurses, too - love
it when we come to visit.
