Snooker
is a year and a half old small miniature poodle who was born
blind as his retinas never developed. His breeder gave him to us so she
wouldn't have to put him to sleep. He is a very affectionate pet who
does everything a sighted dog does including running in the yard and
going to the next door neighbor's refrigerator. However, he will not
walk on a leash properly. He wants to follow not walk at the side.
Snooker will sit or just refuse to move as he doesn't know what's in
front of him. We take Snooker everywhere so we bought a baby stroller
and he rides in style and loves it. He frequently goes shopping and he
has recently completed his first airplane ride flying over his home.
Snooker lives in northwestern Pennsylvania. Snooker visits our elderly
neighbor several times a day. She has gotten so she sits and watches for
him to come out of the house just to see him. Perhaps he understands
handicapped as he is also. His visits are the high point of her day.
