About Us
Sadie, the Dog of the Day
Name: Sadie
Age: Six months old
Gender: Female Breed: Golden Bassador
Home: Columbia, South Carolina, USA

Sadie is a "Golden Bassador" (we believe Sadie to be the only Golden Bassador ever in existence). This is her puppy picture. Sadie was rescued from the shelter when she was ten weeks old. She was the only blonde out of a litter of all black puppies. Sadie has the body of a golden retriever, the legs of a basset hound, the coat of a Labrador retriever, the ears of a collie, and the black tongue of a chow. Even though we know she is a pup of ethnically diverse backgrounds (a mixed breed), we call her a purebred "Golden Bassador" to make her feel special. This is also what we tell people when they say how odd she looks and ask what kind of dog she is. We've heard everything from Lab to Corgi, Chow-Chow to "Lowrider" to describe her unique appearance!

When we took her to a Dog Fair in Columbia several months ago, she stole all the attention away from the purebred dogs because of her very special look (and her very charming personality). I wish I could say a definite mix of breeds adequately describes her, but she defies categorization. Ever since we got her, Sadie has been the third member of our small family and we love her very much. Sadie is a very loving and affectionate dog... she always wants to put all 55 pounds of herself right up in your lap. She is spoiled rotten, but we love her.
