My
dog Howlie is the cutest dog I've ever known. He has a smile that
is so sweet. All he has to do is flash that grin and he can get
whatever he wants. He howls more than he barks, hence the name Howlie.
Sometimes it sounds like he's trying to say something in human
language. His tail curls up in a little bun. His feet are like spongy
cotton swabs that I love to squeeze.
His eyes are so big and brown. When I am up-close and face-to-face
with Howlie, I don't know where he is looking because his eyes point
outward, like a cartoon dog. He looks really cute when he has his
tongue hanging out the side of his mouth when he gets really excited.
Howlie has an innocent "I didn't do anything" look when his brow goes
up. That's when I go to the bathroom and see if the roll of bathroom
tissue is all rolled out. And it usually is. He has a toilet paper
fetish that I don't understand.
Howlie is aerodynamic. His ears fold back when he's ready to receive a
pat on the head. He can stand on his hind legs for a long time. And he
likes jumping on two legs too. He's also very flexible and can sleep
in any position. He enjoys cuddling and leaning on people. He likes
sticking to people like that. He has no sense of personal space. I can
also pick him up and lay him down on his back whenever I want. Howlie
doesn't mind.
I bring Howlie to the dog park so that he can play with other dogs.
His favorites are the pit bulls. He is the fastest dog I've ever seen.
He likes to play chase with other dogs knowing that he will outrun
them. I enjoy watching him run, but I try to discourage his
challenging other dogs by "leaving" him when he finds a dog that will
chase him. Then Howlie comes running to me. Another favorite park
pastime of his is digging.
He likes to use his front paws for many things. He reaches under the
couch with them to look for his lost toys, he holds up his toys with
them, and he licks them, like a cat. He might be half cat. He even
chews on his paws, as if he was chewing on beef jerky. I don't know
why Howlie does that. But it's really cute.
