Although
these two dogs are of the same breed and were purchased from
the same kennel, they each have their own personalities. Ballou is
quiet, subdued and extremely passive. Bailey on the other hand is full
of energy and always ready to go...go...go. Despite any of this, they
are both equally spoiled and equally loved. Sometimes my husband and I
think that they were once human. They know what to expect on a given
day, depending on our routine. For example, if I put on my sneakers
(and they know the difference), they will automatically sit next to
their leashes and wait to go for a walk. Fridays is their day to go
for a "ride" and for some reason they know when it's Friday
because this is the only day that they run to the door when my husband
takes out his keys. They both sleep in our bedroom on their individual
dog beds, while covered with their individual blankets and although I
may get up 2-3 times a night, they know it's time to for them to get
up when they hear me take my glasses off the night stand. I work first
shift, Monday - Friday and my husband works third shift, Friday -
Tuesday. Ballou and Bailey know whether to go back to bed after I
leave for work or hang out with me while my husband goes up to bed.
These are just a few examples of how our dogs fulfill our lives.
They're absolutely our best friends and we truly love them.
