Jackson
takes care of his owners! A couple of years ago he rescued one of his owners from
being mauled by a very upset bull! The bull had "Bill" down, was rolling him and
was on top of him when Jackson came out of nowhere and started biting at the bull's nose
until Bill was able to roll under the fence (with Jackson close behind, he knows when to
call it quits!) He made the front page news! Another time he was out on a walk at night
down a country road with his other owner (Sue) and suddenly came back to walk right beside
her (very unusual behavior for a dog that normally follows his nose on walks). He nudged
her hands as if he was telling Sue to walk faster, the whole time staying very close. In
the darkness Sue finally made out three dark shapes on one side and two on the other side
(in the ditches) staying parallel with them as they walked. Jackson stayed close until the
shapes, which were coyotes, joined up and took off. Besides his heroic deeds, Jackson
offers support, comfort and comic relief whenever he feels we need it. He is the best!
