Hi!
I'm Chummy! My formal name is Lord Chumley of Amesbury, but since
I seldom act like a Lord, I am more often referred to as Chummy,
Moose, Monster dog, or Himself. I live in Amesbury, Massachusetts
along with my dad, mom, and four girl cats! I'm a big boy, weighing in
at 135 pounds, and I think I'm very special because I've been here for
over a year and a half, and I haven't eaten them.... yet... (the cats,
that is!)
I came to live here in June of 1999. I was a stray and no rescue
shelter would take me because I have some Rottweiler in me. My dad
read about me in the newspaper and he and mom saved me from being put
to sleep. Even though I'm big, I'm very gentle, especially with the
neighborhood kids, (and those darn cats!). I don't have many faults,
but I do bark to raise the alarm whenever the UPS truck drives through
the neighborhood! I love company too, but they don't seem to like it
much when I put my paws on their shoulders to greet them... dunno why!
Mom always puts me in the basement when the doorbell rings.
My favorite person in the whole world is my dad. He takes me for
"walkies" in the woods every morning, even in the pouring rain and
snowstorms! And he lets me play rough and growl when he gets home at
night. My mom feeds me and brushes me, and is always cleaning up after
me... (it's hard to be neat when you're as big as I am!) She gets
cross when I track mud through the kitchen, or chew my rawhide bones
to bits on the carpet, and especially when I chase the cats, but I
think she loves me all the same. After all, I'm a pretty lovable guy!!
