Cheyenne
is very special to us because she is a loving, protective
part of our family. She is friends with three cats and a wonderful
playmate to our daughter, and friend to My Wife and I.
She learned from a very early age - I guess four months old - to shake. I
tell her to shake and she hands me her paw, I tell her good girl, then
I tell her Other and she will hand me the other one. She lays down on
commands with our hands and sits with the silent commands as well. She
is a very intelligent dog, for instance she learned how to open our
locked back gate to run around to the front yard when she knows we are
out there. She tells us she is thirsty and wants water by standing up
at the kitchen sink and barks. She was taught at an early age that she
was to sleep in a large size kennel, and that when we went bye bye she
was to stay in there as well. All we have to do is tell her "IN" and
she enters her House.
Now that she is one year old and not as mischievous we let her sleep
outside of the kennel and look outside from the front window when we
are gone. She protects her little Kitty Friends and they will even
sleep close together on her Big Pillow in Front of the window at
night.
Not long ago my wife gave birth to our little girl and it seemed as
though right from the start Cheyenne knew that there were boundaries
when it came to the baby. The baby is nine months old now and every now
and then gets away with pulling the dogs tail or hair and Cheyenne
does not do anything except move away from the baby or lick the baby.
We do not leave them alone together but from everything we have seen
we are very lucky to have chose such a beautiful and friendly doggy.
She also has beautiful blue eyes and is solid white which is amazing
to us.
