About Us
Freedom, the Dog of the Day
Name: Freedom
Age: Five years old
Gender: Female Breed: Siberian Husky
Home: California, USA

Freedom is unlike any husky I have met. She is independent, but obedient. She has never been to obedience school, which is not usually a good idea for a husky. But Freedom knows just as much as her sister, Libby (a Shepherd mix). She knows fun tricks and important commands. Freedom came to us at one year old. We bought her at PetsMart. My sister and I had to use the rest room, and the kennels were right by them. We saw this beautiful, mellow looking dog. Now we know she is not mellow. She ran away from her very first owner as a very young pup to her owner that gave her to PetsMart. That owner moved into an apartment that didn't allow dogs. Her former name was Skully. Freedom has never been really good with little animals. We taught to leave the cats alone when we say "no cat". Freedom sucks up to anyone when someone is yelling. We don't even yell at her, but she comes right up and smothers you with kisses. She dresses up every Halloween, and doesn't mind it much. Her sister, Lib, dresses up with her. They dress as something different every year, and the little trick-or-treating kids love it. We didn't know much about Huskies when we first bought her, but now that we know just about everything, Freedom seems too obedient to be one. But she is 100% Husky. It's hard to believe that we got such a great dog from PetsMart (which has shelter animals.) It was destiny.
