We
got PingPong as an apartment dog three years ago. She was the size
of a chipmunk the day we brought her home. A short six months later we
bought a house, and the back yard was just too big for little
PingPong. She needed a sister, so we got Sebago at twelve weeks old
from an elderly lady who was too sick to take care of her. They became
our "children" because we don't have kids. Both have quirky
personalities that keep us laughing every day.
PingPong's typical pug noises; wheezing, snoring, snorting, sneezing,
sniffling, coots, howls, and grunts; still gets us going. Sebago's
mood changes; from a super-excited Muhammad Ali impersonation, to
sitting upright on the couch calmly watching Animal Planet station, to
passed out on the back lawn with all four legs in the air; can crack a
smile at any given moment. We love our "girls" very much...
so much so that we got Sebago knee $urgery just to prove it! She had
torn a ligament in her knee, but after six boring weeks of bed rest,
is feeling much better and is back to chasing birds and squirrels in
the back yard with her "big" sister.
PingPong is always on the alert and is a truly independent thinker.
She can be very bossy to her family, but makes sure there's love to
give when she needs one of us for a warm pillow. PingPong's
"please pay attention to me" look can melt butter, as Sebago
prefers the head-butting approach to get your attention. As an
unlikely pair, these two are truly sisters. The brains and the brawn
work together as a team, no matter what the occasion.
