Here
is my Chipper. :o) His name is perfect because he has chewed most
of my bushes into wood chips, but he's still been the most perfect dog
ever since I got him. (I haven't had to do any pruning at all this
year! hahah) I got him on Nov. 5, 2000. He was a five month old
shelter dog who was fostered through Second Chance Animal Rescue. I
found him online through Petfinder.com!
I took one look at the photo, read the description and knew he would
be perfect for my little family. :o) I had two other dogs at that
time: Brandy, a nine year old corgi mix; and Bailey, a twelve year old
basset hound mix. I knew Bailey was getting up there in age and I
didn't want Brandy to be alone, so I went to see Chipper and I fell in
love with him! He's the most loving dog I've ever seen. He's there to
help everyone, human and animal alike. He was there for me when I lost
Bailey to old age. He is always there to help Brandy retrieve her
racquetball when she just can't reach it in some corner.
And now, we have a new puppy named Harry, a 7 1/2 week old Westie. He
is Harry's constant companion! Chipper is the best big brother to
Harry. He's my all-time baby-sitter! He watches out for Harry, just
like he has for Brandy. He plays with Harry all day long. He even goes
into the kennel with Harry when Harry gets a time out session. :o/
Chipper takes his new job seriously!
Chipper got Lyme disease this year. I was afraid I was going to lose
him too and it really scared me, but he's made a remarkable recovery
in just one month! He loves to run in the woods and spend time
swimming and romping at the off-leash dog parks. He flies through the
air to catch his frisbee or any kind of ball that's airborne. He plays
tug, and catch me, wrestles with Harry for hours; but most of all he
loves to snuggle. Our little family would just never be the same
without him.
