Chal
Chal was rescued at the tender age of four weeks. She was much
smaller than the rest of the litter and having difficulty weaning, it
was feared that she might not survive. With much love and affection my
mom and I took turns feeding her a special concoction and nursed her
to health in a matter of weeks. She was truly, my pick of the litter.
Twelve years later she is a happy, healthy, incredibly spoiled and
loving member of our family. Let me just highlight "incredibly
spoiled", she has a custom carved oak bed, a lounging bed in the
kitchen, a nighttime bed in the bedroom, a bye-bye travel bed and her
bed at Grandma's and Grandpa's house, not to mention her wardrobe
including, sun glasses, hats, scarves and coordinating sweaters. She
is positively all girl and tends to be a bit prissy, she loves to take
baths and go to the "beauty parlor" to have her hair and nails done.
Chal Chal prances as if she is a royal princess and acts accordingly.
She is definitely feisty, she can be stubborn and no doubt demanding,
if she wants something she will make you very well aware of it. Over
the years we have established an extraordinary bond, she has a rather
extended comprehension of my verbal communications. She understands
many words and commands. We have conversations on daily basis, she is
an excellent listener and amazing secret keeper. What truly makes Chal
Chal unique is her individuality and expression. She is a smart,
stylish, gracious, independent, and very spunky peke (all the
attributes of an awesome female). Not only has she captured my heart
and the hearts of her extended family, she captures the hearts of
everyone she meets. There is more personality in this extraordinary
eight pound little fur-baby than in most people I know. Chal Chal is a
loving and loyal companion; she's my best friend. She has placed her
paw prints in my heart!
