This
is Shelby, our newest addition to the family. We brought her home
on St. Patrick's Day, 2001, when she was just a little over seven weeks
old. Her mom was brought in to Collie rescue here in Ohio in January,
2001. She was about ten days from giving birth to seven puppies. They
were all girls and, of course, adorable. Since Collie rescue couldn't
keep Shelby's mom, a friend of ours volunteered to let her have the
pups at her house. So, my husband and myself were over there at least
twice a week to visit them and choose one for ourselves. We must have
changed our minds a dozen times but finally decided on this adorable
little girl. She is a spit-fire but is learning her manners slowly
but surely. She is attending puppy kindergarten now and is doing very
well. She has two older sisters, a twelve year old Shepherd mix and a 10
1/2 month old Doberman. Shelby and Sere play almost all the time.
That's one of the reasons we decided to get Shelby... a playmate for
Sere. What makes Shelby special? Well.... she has added a special
something to our home. She's always glad to see us when we come home
and she loves to learn new things. We're sure she'll give us plenty
of love and joy through the years.
