Duke
was abandoned along with four other dogs out in the middle of
nowhere. One of the dogs was his brother, he and Duke were just
puppies (about five months old). He loves to ride in my truck! Riding
in the back isn't good enough for him - he rides up front with me. We
have been through a lot together, both receiving abuse from my
ex-husband.
Duke is such a special dog. He gets so sad when I leave for work. He
spends most of his time in the living room, looking out the window,
awaiting my return. He has truly been a gift to me. This photo was
taken a few years ago. He's about eight years old now, and is gray
around the muzzle. It saddens me to see him getting old. I would love
for him to be around a lot longer than the Lord will let him. There is
a special place waiting for him someday in Heaven with me.
