About Us
Buddy, Tasha, the Dogs of the Day
Name: Buddy, Tasha
Age: Five years old
Gender: Male, Female Breed: Lab Mix, Shepherd/Rottweiler Mix
Home: Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, Canada

These are my very best friends Buddy and Tasha from Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada. Buddy is a Lab cross and Tasha is a Shepherd, Rottweiler and who-knows-what-else cross. This picture is a few years old now as they are both approaching five years old, Buddy is a couple of months older. These are two fantastic dogs with loads of (very different!) personality. Tasha is up for a game at any time, day or night, at the drop of a hat, while Bud is the guardian of the yard, car, house, street, and everything else. If there is nothing to guard, then he is almost certainly sleeping. He also fancies himself quite the hunter and has done very well for himself: He has to his credit four gophers, two mice, one rat, two carp (no, I'm not kidding!) and one un-named animal. Tasha doesn't share Bud's love of hunting and considers the world her friend, if she can't kiss it then it's not worth having around, her tongue has stopped moving for about seven minutes in the entire time that I have had her.

Even more than being my best friends, they are each other's best friends. Though they spend an awful lot of time kicking the crap out of each other it is all in fun and either would be lost without the other. They very rarely sleep apart and are very cute together; Tasha has recently taken over Bud's personal grooming chores and cleans the better part of his body almost every night. This is my first time having two dogs and will never again have a "single child dog"; they are comfortable and well behaved in all situations as long as they have each other to lean on. I had Bud first and was experiencing some minor behavioural problems (chewing, etc.) which went away immediately the day I got Tasha. The best thing about them is that in almost five years, they have made me laugh every single day.
