Madison
was named after my favorite comedian Adam Sandler, and the
character he played in the movie Billy Madison. She is a special dog
for many reasons. Although she isn't really a dog, she is a wolf
hybrid. She is wonderful with children, protective of her family,
loyal, trusting, gentle, kind and she loves to lay in bed and be held.
She demands my affection, shoving at my hands, crawling on me when I
sit on the floor and laying next to me with her head on my chest and a
paw on my stomach... ah such a cuddly monster I created with all that
snuggling when she was little!
Maddie has stolen the hearts of everyone who has met her. Her winning
disposition, eager personality and big heart make her a favorite
around our neighborhood. With her German Shepherd breeding she is
lovely and built well, but not big. She has the bark of a dog three
times her size. Out on the trails with my horse, walking on the leash,
roughhousing with me, playing catch or making friends, Maddie is
loyal. In her eyes I see a me that I like, one who I can be proud of -
the reflection of what I am in those brown pools reminds me of all she
gives me.
I spend a moment each day in awe of the love and devotion Madison
shows me. I only hope to be half as worthy as she seems to think I am.
She is my friend, my confidant and protector... she has a small piece
of my soul. She is mine and I am hers. I feel ever grateful to be
owned by my wolf hybrid Madison.
