About Us
Molly G. Mcgruder, the Dog of the Day
Name: Molly G. Mcgruder
Age: Eight years old
Gender: Female Breed: Brittany, Cocker Spaniel Mix
Home: Spokane, Washington, USA

This is Molly - an "angel in disguise" for halloween. She lives in a pack of three since the human children moved out, hence she is incredibly spoiled. Two years ago she developed glaucoma and lost her sight in one eye. Now Molly goes to an opthamalogist veterinarian twice a year. Therefore, she has a new nickname, "Hawkeye!"

Molly comes from two breeds of superb hunters, so she is on patrol from sunup to sundown. She is a quiet huntress, preferring to stare down, stalk or sprint her prey out of her territory, the backyard. Prey includes cats, mice, birds and "Enemy Number One" - gray squirrels, especially Runt. Runt, being the smallest of the squirrels, is bullied and chased from the peanut feeder in a world where the fittest survive. Therefore Runt takes greater risks with Molly. At least twice a day they square off. Molly stalks & runt teases. Hopefully, we will have pictures of it some day.

As you can see Molly is the "light of our lives" and proof that "the best dog is the one you have now!" As Ronnie of "Pet Tips" in Israel asks, "Have you hugged your dog today?" Molly agrees, even if a hug a day doesn't keep the vet away.
