This
is our new addition to the family.....Her name is Abby and she is
a Bernese Mountain Dog. We have waited many months to find her and she
went through a great ordeal in order to come to us. Abby is one of
five Bernese Mountain Dogs who made their way to the U.S. from Europe
on March 12th, 2001. After a 28-hour flight and a six-hour car ride,
we finally were able to hold Abby in our arms! My son and myself drove
ten hours from our home in Charlotte, North Carolina to our hometown of
Lock Haven, Pennsylvania to meet with the breeder to pick up our new
pup. We couldn't be more pleased with her... and we kind of get the
feeling that the feeling is mutual.
Abby is just ten weeks old and weighs in at sixteen pounds already. We
expect that she will be a rather large dog of somewhere around 100
pounds when she is full grown. She visited with her doctor this past
weekend and he has given her a complete bill of health... stating that
she is a perfect specimen of the Berner breed. The smaller photo is of
my son Kyle and our Abby... Now, how could anyone refuse such a face?
