This
is Ronnie, also known as Norris, Norbert and a host of demented
names that my sister has come up with. He is foolish enough to respond
to any name, provided its said in the right tone! He is a wonderful mix
of one fourth beagle and three fourth dachshund. He is one of the five
dogs in the family, and is the sweetest tempered of the lot! His way of
showing affection is catching hold of your wrist and gently dragging you
around the house. He loves water and I think he's smart enough to have
figured out that rolling in mud will get him a bath, and he is bathed
thrice a week because he finds some rather objectionable material to
roll in every couple of days. He must sleep with his head on a pillow,
and snores contentedly all night.If you try locking him out of your room
at night, he'll howl almost exactly like a jackal! His favorite toys are
socks, and no one in our family has a pair of matching socks left.
Ronnie once jumped headfirst into a filthy lake in a park during his
walk and we had to wade in to fish him out! I think he did it on purpose!
