This
is Fraser, a Shetland Sheepdog. Fraser came to us in 1990 as a
companion for Stacy, who has Muscular Dystrophy and is in a wheelchair.
Fraser never leaves Stacy's side. He follows behind his wheelchair,
sleeps next to his bed, and barks if Stacy needs help. Two years ago,
when Stacy had to go into hospital for two and a half months, Fraser got
very sick because he missed him so much. Fraser would just sit inside
waiting for Stacy to come home - he wouldn't even eat. The nurses at
the hospital ended up letting us sneak Fraser into the hospital to see
Stacy! Two months ago we got another Sheltie called Lady. She was
homeless and had been wandering the streets for months. The pound
managed to catch her, and when we saw her in the paper we decided to
take her in. She is only two years old. We found out later that she is
Fraser's niece! Fraser and Lady get on really well, although Lady is
bigger and stronger than Fraser, and has lots more energy.
