We
live in Palm Desert and while I was shopping for food at Petco I saw
these puppies in a cage area. Bart looked at me with his big green eyes
and rough-coated hairy face. I picked him up and he nuzzled my neck. I
asked the adoption center, "What is up with the dogs?" They are a rescue
league and rescue various pets and adopt them out. Already having a dog
and cat, I said "I do want him, and my husband works up the hill, I do
not want to adopt without his permission." She let me leave my license
and take him to show my husband. My husband said, "Honey, if you want
him it is fine with me." I adopted him and his name is Bart. He was a
very timid dog and was abused by the time I got him at ten weeks. I gave
him love and attention as well as my husband did when he was home. We
hired a special trainer to come to our house and train him without any
punishing. He did well. He went on to agility and now he performs and
does tricks. He has come along way and I would do not know if a human
could do what he has done. We love him and he is our special boy. He is
now turning one year this month sometime, we're unsure of the exact day.
All I can say is he is a very smart and loving dog.
