This
is Max. Max was "hangin' around" where I work. Skinny, in very bad
health and terribly scared of everyone and everything. The first day I
saw him, I talked to him and he wet all over himself but wouldn't let me
near him. The next day he was still there. On the third day, I decided
that I had to find someone to take him in before he got ran over or just
died from neglect. I called my husband and while neither of us wanted a
dog, we brought him home with us. The vet advised us that Max was almost
five months old, very hungry and a walking parasite farm when we "adopted"
him.
He is now ten months old and weighs approximately 75 pounds. He is a
happy boy! He is a very sweet tempered dog, almost never barks and has
been such a positive influence on our lives. We think he is mostly
German Shepherd and Lab, but we are confident that his past is
wonderfully "checkered." Max is an innovative digger and is presently
completing a rather intricate canal system in our back yard, but we are
having a hard time caring. We think that Max is a shining example of Dog
of the Day!
