Bernard,
or The Senor as I call him, is a very special friend to
me. My wife and I have had him since he was eight weeks old and
have watched him grow from a puppy the size of my hand to a burly
22 pound dog with a hint of gray on his jowls. When I'm at home
he always wants to play or be at my side. If he falls asleep on
the couch next to me, he will drag himself up when I move, even
though he is exhausted, so that he can keep close to me.
One night not too long ago I had to go back to work in the
evening to finish a task. I decided to bring The Senor with me
since he had already spent the day by himself and needed some
company. He was so excited to be somewhere new that he ran
around the office floor setting off the motion activated lights
in the hallway. He may have slowed my progress down a little
bit, but seeing his cute little pug face helped keep my spirits
up on a long night of work. Bernard has two settings, completely
wild and totally sacked out. When people, or dogs like his
cousin Rocco, come to visit he will run around the house in a
figure eight pattern to show his enthusiasm. He always enjoys
playing with and meeting new people.
Bernard also loves to "show his teeth," which happens when his
jowls get stuck and his bottom teeth are therefore uncovered. At
night when he is ready to sack out, he will go to sleep under the
covers with me and my wife. He often tries to snuggle in between
us so that he can remain in contact with both of us. Usually I
will wake up in the morning and The Senor will be laying next to
me snoring with his little pug head on the pillow. He is a very
cute and crazy dog and has made our family complete.
