Our
Labrador Retriever's name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, A.K.A.
The Gladiator! We just call him Max. He is almost four months old and he is the
best, sweetest puppy ever born, truly amazing that we were the
ones lucky enough to be adopted by him!
He is incredibly smart. He has been able to SIT, LAY DOWN,
SHAKE, STAY, wait to be invited into the house and not chew our
hands off when given a treat for weeks now, he learned them all
quickly and at such an early age. He is very impressive, till he
pees on the carpet! But since we can't expect miracles we are
still working on that one. Another thing he has learned to do
apparently is tell time... this has its advantages and
disadvantages... My husband and I have to get up at 5am every
morning for work and Max has started to get antsy and starts to
whine at about 4:55 every morning.... which is fine for Monday
through Friday, we don't have to set our alarms, unfortunately we
have not found Max's snooze button for Saturday and Sunday!
Max loves to go for walks and he is sooo friendly! He has to
meet every person and animal we encounter on our walks. He also
has to pick up every thing and anything he can with his mouth!
Even snails! Not to mention sticks and rocks... of course we are
trying to break him of this habit! Crazy is as Crazy does!
The best part about Max is his abundance of affection! He wants
to be near us at all times. He is always under foot which makes
for interesting times in the kitchen when trying to prepare
meals! But it is nice to have his constant companionship.
We certainly could not have asked for a better addition to our family!
