We
adopted Bailey from Sevilla, Spain from a rescue organization
called Animales de Andelucia. His family was going through a divorce
and could not keep him, so they took him to ADA to be adopted out. I
saw him at the site and it was love at first sight! I always wanted a
Cocker Spaniel, especially the English type! And his color is a
gorgeous mahogany red! We renamed him from Bady to Bailey because I
didn't care for his old name. He moved in on January 28th, 2001 and
has been spoiled and well cared for by us. He's our pride and joy!
Bailey's got a great personality. He's very sensitive, affectionate,
loving, comical and protective of his owners (my husband and I) and
anyone he knows. He's timid around children under eight or nine years old,
and strangers. But once he gets to know you, he's okay! He really
dislikes cats, other male dogs and people who are skiiing or skating
(inline). In the ten months that we've had him, he's learned tricks
and commands in both English and Swedish. He can do: sit, stay, down
stay, roll over, high five, shake paw, fetch, speak, catch treats in
the air. We are teaching him new tricks every so often. He loves to
fetch things, such as twigs, frisbees and balls. As I said, he's
extremely affectionate and loves being around people. His previous
family must've not paid attention to him!
