The
dog on the right is Darby and he is an Australian Shepherd, and
the dog on the left is Sassy and she is an also an Australian
Shepherd, Red Merle, birth date unknown, we adopted her on May 27,
2000, so we use that as her birthday.
Darby and Sassy are the joy of my husband's and my life. Each dog
weighs over 75 pounds, so beware if they both get excited in the morning
and come running into bed at the same time. At the time I purchased
Darby, we had a beautiful Australian Shepherd, named "Aussie," who was
fourteen years old. I wanted to have another Aussie so the void would not be
so big when our beloved Aussie passed on. Darby got to be with Aussie
for six months before Aussie went to heaven. Darby was really attached
to Aussie. Within three weeks, we decided to get another Australian
Shepard and we got "Sassy" through the Australian Shepherd Rescue Club.
These two dogs are now inseparable. Darby loves Sassy. If you ask
Darby, "where's Sassy?" he will run all over the yard and house
looking for her. Our dogs love to go for rides, play ball and eat ice
cubes.
