My name is "Gustov the Great" but everyone calls me Gus. I am a 95 pound brown dog. I was abandoned as a puppy at a vet clinic when my previous owners couldn't pay the bill. My doctor called his friends (mom and dad) and they came and took one look at me and took me home. Sometimes when I'm taking the folks for a walk, people stop and try and guess what kind of dog I am. I have heard everything from a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon to a Drahthaar, but I'm just a brown dog. But the funniest one was when one guy thought I was an Irish Wolfhound. Ha! Two of my best friends, Zoe and Phoebe, are Wolfhounds and boy are they tall. I can run under their legs. We have a great time, of course because I am their main man. My other best friend is Casey, a Golden Retriever. We go to Lake Powell together. We swim and swim and swim. Even though I have big webbed feet she can still beat me in a swimming race. Someday... I love to play Frisbee with my dad. But my main JOB is to fetch the paper every morning so my dad doesn't have to go outside in bare feet. Of course I get a treat as payment for my job. One time in the summer my dad let me sleep outside all night and he didn't know, be he left the gate open. I fetched all the papers in our neighborhood and put them on the porch thinking I would get a treat for each paper. I still don't understand why that didn't happen. I guess because dad had to go outside in his bare feet to return the papers. I love everyone, especially my mom. One time when she was very sick for two weeks I wouldn't leave the bedroom except to go outside when my dad made me. My mom tells everyone that I helped her get well. I'm sure glad I did. I can tell my folks love me very much because they hug me a lot and laugh at me a lot because I am such a happy dog.
