About Us
Priderocks Cowboy Riggs, the Dog of the Day
Name: Priderocks Cowboy Riggs
Age: Ten months old
Gender: Male Breed: Shetland sheepdog
Home: Springboro, Ohio, USA

I am a four month old male purebred shetland sheepdog and look forward to a long career in agility showing. I am full of energy but become very reserved when asked to relax. I love my family and am especially fond of Kayce who is eight and is in the third grade. I will do anything for cookies. I know how to jump, spin and run poles. However, I like to take short cuts.

Riggs is an outgoing and affectionate puppy who enjoys a lot of attention. He loves an audience and will go out of his way to make us laugh. He is very quiet and seldom barks. He will bark when his water bowl is empty, when he wants to go outside, or when a stranger comes to our house. He stops when assured that everything will be okay. He is far from timid and is always ready to try new things. He loves to go outside when it is snowing. He knows that he has to have his paws dried before he leaves the mud room and will grab the towel and prance around for a few minutes before happily surrendering. He loves to be brushed and can be found napping during grooming sessions.

We live on a seven acre horse farmette in Springboro, Ohio. We spent four years investigating various dog breeds and decided that the Shetland Sheepdog was an excellent match for our family. I contacted a breeder in Cincinnati, Ohio who was expecting a litter in October. However, when I visited her establishment to make a selection, a three-month-old male entered the room in a prancing manner, looked at me (I swear he smiled) and then nonchalantly walked on by. He was such a happy little guy and was so sure of himself. The kind of dog that will stomp his feet and tell the judge, "Hey, look at me I am something special." The breeder was not interested in selling but after several visits and numerous requests, we ended up taking him home in November.
