Butterscotch, the Dog of the Day
Name: Butterscotch
Age: Deceased, Fifteen years old
Gender: Female Breed: Cocker Spaniel
Home: Hobbs, New Mexico, USA

This is our beautiful lady, ButterScotch. ButterScotch (aka Scutter) came to us as a dog on the run! She had escaped from the breeder's yard and was being chased by two male black labs. She woke us up scratching on our door. Mom let her in and she immediately ran to my room and jumped up on the bed! When we eventually found the breeders, they would not let us buy her; she was 'their' dog. Well, ButterScotch ran to us a few more times before we turned her into the pound. To make a long story short, the breeder never came to get her (never even called to ask about her) and we became her legal owners! We also went to visit her everyday that she was in 'jail' and, because adoption was on a first-come-first-served basis, my mother arrived four hours before the pound opened--just to get our doggie!

ButterScotch became an immediate part of the family. She loved kitty-cats, kids, and car rides. She was a true-lady, even crossing her paws when she'd lie down. Sadly, we had to have ButterScotch put to sleep due to complications that come with old age.

We love and miss you ButterScotch. You'll forever hold a special spot in our hearts!
