My
name is Bentley. I am a two and a half year old Weimaraner. Two
humans named Fred and Martin adopted me from the Monterey SPCA just
before Christmas after seeing my information at the
San Francisco Bay Weimaraner Club.
We live in the Oakland hills. I have a fear of strangers which causes
people to think I must not have been socialized properly or that I was
abused. No one will ever really know... Fred and Martin took me to a
behaviorist and to obedience classes at the Marin County Humane Society.
It was difficult, but I was diligent with the training and recently
graduated from obedience class.
I am still very cautious around people. I don't particularly enjoy all
the attention I get wherever I go, but I am slowly learning the humans I
am in contact with are friendly and don't mean me any harm. Life is
great now that I can deal with most situations. The guys take me
everywhere with them, but my favorite places are all the parks and
hiking trails that surround the area. We go out at least once a day, and
I always carry a pinecone around so we can play fetch. I also like
running with the other dogs, even letting their owners pet me on very
rare occasions. We go to the coast on some weekends where I fetch sticks
along the beach. Fred and Martin have a lot of fun playing with me
indoors also. I am very active and ingenious when it comes to chasing
and finding my toys after they hide them all over the house.
Sincerely, Bentley
