Like
every pet owner, I feel that Kahlua is quite a special animal and
member of my family. This is Kahlua... she was born on June 11, 1998 and
came to live with her owners Rick and Mag on August 1, 1998. She is half
English Mastiff and half Rottweiler and is the sweetest and most gentle
dog, despite her intimidating appearance. She loves all people and is
the happiest when she can get someone's attention. One summer day, Rick
and Mag took her to New York's Soho, where very obediently she walked
around, hoping to make friends. Although most people shied away at first
because of her size, they often asked what kind of dog she was...
(Apparently there aren't too many brown rottweilers, according to most
of their guesses). Kahlua appeared sad because no one went to pet her...
Sitting on a stoop, Rick and Mag put sunglasses on her, and she didn't
object... Especially when people would stop and stare, and then walk
over and pet her for several minutes...Several tourists also stopped to
take her picture!
She is the sweetest, most affectionate job. She loves ice cubes, car
rides, and walking under people's legs (she's not quite aware of her
size yet). She hates the vacuum cleaner, cows, Hooch from the movie
"Turner and Hooch" and metal sidewalk grates, and she loves cats - at
least the ones that live with her. She is the gentle protector and
companion of the now four cats that she lives with.
