Here
I am last summer, about to embark on my first boat ride on Lake
Champlain in Upstate New York. I don't remember much about the trip, as
I slept for most of it, but my humans seemed to really enjoy it.
My name is Riley and I'm a 1 1/2 year old male basset hound. I live in a
small farming community in Upstate New York and have a fenced-in wooded
yard that adjoins with the yard next door, which belongs to my aunt. Her
springer spaniel, Maggie, is my best friend and I enjoy chasing her
around the yard, licking her whiskers and stealing her rawhide chews. As
you can tell, I'm very energetic and often wake my humans up at night to
play with me. That, naturally, makes them a little ornery, but a cute
tail-wag and a lick in the face seems to mollify them. I dislike
getting my nails clipped; staying home alone; the Vet.
My humans are fun: I take them for three-mile walks (my favorite activity),
go for rides in the car with them and, of course, steal their socks,
which is how I perfected the tail-wag/lick thing. I also like to sleep
under the covers with my humans (and they actually let me! ) and hide
under the bed when I've been "bad." Overall, life is good.
