Zeus
is a one of a kind dog by the way he acts and his intelligence.
His favorite things to do is to eat, play with his favorite stuffed toy
(a little green monster), and to keep those he's around happy. He has
made everybody he's around happier, even if he only sees them for a
minute. I'm so lucky to be his best friend.
Zeus was a high school/army graduation present from my neighbor who
breeds pomeranians. She told me that I could have any puppy that I
liked, but she had this special one to show me that she was wanting a
good home for. She knew that all the dogs that I ever had lived to an
old age and were very healthy (cause they ate everything!). When I went
over to pick out a puppy I was kind of wanting a black male pom. There
were six little bundles of fur in this pen, all different colors. I saw
one that I thought that I might like. Then my neighbor asked me to see
the little puppy that she kept separate. He was the runt and she had to
bottle feed him because he wasn't getting any food.
So, I walked with her over to the smaller pen in which this tiny puppy
was sleeping. She opened up the door and called out, "Here, Peanut." I
wasn't sure about taking a runt because I know they usually don't live
as long as the others. Well, when this puppy walked out of the cage,
cocked it's head at me, and started to wag it's tail as it walked
towards me, I instantly thought, "Yeah, this is the one." Zeus was the
ugliest puppy there. He had no hair on his neck or back. I even
nicknamed him turkey for a while. But his personality sure made up for
it. I figured the ugliness would only be for a little while. I was
right because he soon got a full coat and became a beautiful dog.
I love Zeus very much. I take
him everywhere with me. He was with me when I had my first car accident
(which was only a fender bender). He always sleeps with me, and since I
live alone, he has been the only listener and companion. He always has
to be in the same room as me, too. We take care of each other. He
keeps me sane and I give him whatever he needs. He has been one of the
best dogs I've ever had.
