Ginger
is a new addition to our family. We rescued her and her mother
from my fiance's exhusband when she was a week old. Unfortunately none
of her littermates lasted long enough to be rescued. Her mother is a
pure beagle; we're not sure what Ginger's father was.
She was born on January 24th, 2002 and is six weeks old in this picture.
By four weeks she knew her name. By five weeks she had mastered the commands
"sit" and "come". By six weeks she learned to climb a flight of stairs
faster than her mother or any of us. Now she's working on "lay" and
"wait" for her seven week birthday. Aside from training commands, she knows
"no," "kiss," "treat" and "dinner time." She was an ugly newborn, but
has gotten cuter each second since then. She has no fear of other dogs
and the cats don't intimidate her. Nothing intimidates her. Now if we
could only teach her to put away her toys and the toys she "borrows"
from the cats.
Ginger is now a little over seven months old. She loves playing with Eli (our
alpha dog), Sassee (her mother) and Ashton and Twidgit (our young cats).
