Dakota
belongs in the movies! Dakota is our fantasy-fairyland dog. She's
soft like a teddy bear and has the sweetest smile. She has the loving,
trusting Golden Retriever personality, turning into one big wag whenever
she see's ANYbody. Dakota doesn't shed a bit because she's part Standard
Poodle. She doesn't even make us sneeze! Her hair grows long and flowing
between clips (with curls like a Rahsta-man) and when she hops around on
her floppy paws, she looks a lot like Barkley on Sesame Street. She has
a long tail with a fan like Golden Retriever's. If her eyelashes don't
get a trim once in a while, they grow to be 2 1/2 inches long! Dakota is
smart and knows 9 commands so far! She loves to hang out on the couch
with her humans, but she also loves to run like the wind. Because of the
golden retriever part of her, she loves to play catch with the frisbee,
jumping high into the air, and she even brings it back! She loves to
swim, and watches birds like a hawk. Dakota loves to frolic in the snow,
and catch snowballs and eat them. But she's a little wary of snowmen! We
found Dakota at the humane society when she was 4 months old and we are
the luckiest humans in the world! She was already named, and Dakota's
human grew up in North Dakota, so when we were introduced, we knew it
was meant to be. When we were out romping in a dog park one day, we met
a Black Lab/Standard Poodle mix. His human told us that Dakota's breed -
Poodle/Retriever is used for seeing eye dogs in Australia because
they're so smart, friendly, and non-allergenic. We do know that this
world would be a more joyful place if there were more dogs like Dakota!
