This
is a picture of my all time dearest friend. His name is Fred and
he was with me every day from the time he was eight weeks old until his
last day at almost thirteen years old. It is almost a year since he passed
from kidney failure and it still hurts just as much if not more. He was
the most devoted, intelligent, gentle, loving buddy. His zest for life
and joy just filled me every day. He made the good times better, and
the hard times tolerable.
I always said that as long as I had my Freddy Bear with me, nothing else
really mattered that much. Fred was a true golden. Aside from loving
me, his next passions were his tennis balls and swimming. He could find
a tennis ball hidden anywhere. One day when I moved to my new home, I
found Freddy outside jumping up at the new yellow apples on the tree.
He was relentless, he thought they were little tennis balls hanging
from the tree. He was overjoyed at his bounty!
Swimming was his greatest passion. During his time he went swimming in
everything from the ocean to pools, to birdbaths to mud puddles. Before
I grew wiser and learned to lock him out of the bathroom, he even popped
into the bathtub with me a few times.
If everyone had a dog like Fred the world would be a better place. He
taught me so much. I am honored that he was a part of my life. I miss
you Fred. See you on rainbow bridge.
