About Us
Sissy, the Dog of the Day
Name: Sissy
Age: Six years old
Gender: Female Breed: Beagle
Home: Williamsburg, Kansas, USA

This is Sissy May Crawford, my dear little Beagle. Sissy is my baby. I rescued her from a crummy life (she had to live in a rabbit hutch, and continually have litters of little Beagles), and brought her into my home, and my life. Because of her past, (kids used to poke her with sticks through the wires of the rabbit hutch), she can still be touchy some times, especially with our other dogs and cats. She won't put up with anyone teasing her, and won't allow anyone to get too close to her face (well, except for me that is. She's learned to trust me, and will tolerate just about anything I do.)

Sissy may only be six years old, but she has been aged so much more than her years by the harsh first almost two years of her life before I got her. She also suffers from skin irritation on her abdomen and back legs, and a respiratory defect (I compare it to asthma - I don't know if dogs can have asthma, but that's what it reminds me of). All I know is that I make the most out of every minute I have with my precious baby, because I know that one day I'll wake up and she will not. Sissy has captured a very special place in my heart, and no one will ever be able to replace that when she's gone.
