My
dog Chop just loves people and is so curious. She loves nose work,
so we have special training called scent training. We do trailing and
tracking every weekends. I believe that her potential scent abilities
should be enormous even she is not a gun dog. Then we will be a perfect
unit!
She is French bulldog, but doesn't look like it, because her face is
small, body is tight, legs are long and thin and her muzzle is not flat.
Even she looks far from a standard of French bulldog according to JKC,
she is the only one have such as unique figure I believe. So she is a
special for me. This is not only special, but also good for her health,
as she doesn't suffer from breathing problems which many French bulldogs
are suffer because of their flat muzzle. Her long legs makes her run
fast, and prominent nose makes her scent easily also. But as she suffer
from atopic dermatitis, she has to have special food, even though her
favorite thing is eating. Therefore I give her dry food prescribing by a
vets, poached egg and flax seed oil only. She loves that meal,
especially the poached egg! She never doesn't want to eat anything, even
hot muggy summer in Japan. She is very curious and never be afraid of
anything. She is hyper and energetic, and always wants to do something.
That's why I start scent training with her. She is much smarter than I,
so I have to learn more and more. She can do "sit" "down" "wait"
"recall" "greeting" and "bang". "Speak" is on the way, too... I still
have a lot of time to find her new characteristics. She is sometimes
self-indulgent like a cat, but sometimes very affectionate. So I enjoy
my life with her very much.
