Hooch
is a gorgeous old dog who's had a run of bad luck recently. First,
a few months ago, he was badly mauled by a huge Alaskan malamute. Now he
has a mystery virus that's made him all wobbly and the poor old boy is
just not himself. I'm sure seeing himself as dog of the day would cheer
him up enormously.
Hooch is a little grumpy, though since being ill, doesn't growl so much.
He used to growl whenever you tried to make eye contact with him, and
especially if you were checking up on him while he was playing in the
back yard (he always seems to know when someone is looking out the
window to see what he's up to). He growls when you try to touch his
'soots' (his feet), or even when you ask if you can look at them.
Despite his grumpiness, he's handy around the house. For instance,
whenever the washing machine has finished a load, he starts barking to
let you know it's time to hang the washing out.
Hooch loves playing basketball in the back yard with his brother Hulk
(also a Jack Russell). Only trouble is they both get so excited
soccering the basketball around the yard that you have to take it off
them or they'll run till they're so pooped they can't breathe.
