Hootch, the Dog of the Day
Name: Hootch
Age: Five years old
Gender: Male Breed: Rottweiler, Shepherd mix
Home: USA

Our dog, Hootch is a Rottweiler-Shepherd cross. He tips the scales at 170 pounds. He was rescued by a "half-way house" for large breeds when he was three months old. He was seven months and 70 pounds when we found him there. He was pretty sick and wouldn't have lasted much longer. Today he is a healthy happy member of our pack, which includes two cats. He is a constant companion, great traveler, playful always, obedient when required and guardian of all children. He has an ear splitting bark and a mournful howl. He learns by himself and understands many words. The other dogs in the neighborhood don't mess in our yard and strangers keep their distance. We sleep sound at night knowing that an intruder would have a hard time getting past this wall to wall dog. Also, we love him.
