Bailey
is a Wire Haired Terrier Mix. She was a gem of a find at the
local Humane Society ten years ago. Bailey has a unique way of greeting
people with a smile which she does by pulling her lips back to reveal
all of her teeth. Most people first seeing this believe that she is
baring her teeth to them, although there is no growl. I reassure them
that this is her way of saying hello. Bailey has always been full of
energy and loves her daily walks where she gets to play with her Kong.
She runs like a bullet and always brings the Kong back for another
throw. She is totally obedient and is always walked leash-free. Over the
last few years she has started to slow down a bit, but nonetheless can
outrun many of the much younger dogs in the neighborhood. Her vet says
she is in phenomenal shape and should live a long life.
Everyone who knows Bailey believes she has the intelligence and
personality of a human being. Some people have said that it is almost
eerie that way she almost knows what you are thinking or feeling. She
has been a trusted and loyal friend for close to 10 years. She is a
pretty scruffy looking character which makes her all the more lovable. I
truly believe that Bailey is a one-of-a-kind dog. It was destiny that
the two of us found each other and I thank God every day that she is
such a special part of my life.
