Dusty
came to us six years ago. My husband and I were newly married and
I had been pestering him for a dog. He had seen Dusty, as a puppy, and
thought I should go take a look. My first thought was, "Yeah cute, but
what about those ears?" His ears were bigger than his body, it seemed.
Well, he gave us the wiggle bum and leapt in my lap, as I knelt on the
floor. It was love at first leap. He came home with us that day.
Ever since, I can't say there has ever been a dull moment. He delights
us in so many ways! He always greets us at the door with a "Where have
you been, I've missed you so much!!" cry, grabs a shoe in his mouth like
a soother and goes in a curly wiggle circle. It doesn't matter whether
we've been out for hours or just a few minutes. He also loves to visit
at the neighbor's house as well. If he sees us going there without him,
he totally freaks out. After all, they are his friends too.
We have a wonderful companion with Dusty and hopefully will continue
laughing at his silly antics every single day, for many years to come.
P.S. He did eventually grow into his ears.
