This
is Poppy. We adopted her from an animal rescue organization, PAAW,
in our area. Poppy is the smartest, most stubborn puppy on the planet.
We love her independence, loyalty, playfulness, and affection for us.
She has made our house a home.
Poppy is very inquisitive and wants to know what everything is. She
loves to play with a rock on the patio. She will carry it around in her
mouth a while then toss it straight up into the air. When it lands she
pushes it around on the concrete with her nose then paws it back and
forth. We call it her "pet rock". She loves to capture bugs and lizards
in the grass and play with them. Sometimes a little too much. She has to
have her paws wiped off every time before she can come back into the
house. We leave the hand towel outside the door. One day, she pawed to
come in the house and we didn't notice. When we finally looked through
the door windowpanes, there she sat with the hand towel in her mouth
waiting to be wiped off. Now she does it every time. She has learned to
sit, stay, shake, wave, go up, and crawl. She is learning to carry her
backpack, so when we take her camping, hiking, and climbing, she can
carry her own things. She gets to take her bath in the big bathtub which
she loves. So much to look at and sniff. She is becoming more
affectionate by the day. Since she is a rescue puppy, she will take a
while to really trust us and bond. We are so glad to have her.
