Dongdi
means Bronze coin in Chinese, precisely, in the Shanghai
dialect, hometown of my grandmother (mother's side) and the famous NBA
rookie Yao Ming. Naturally, we named our dog Dongdi because of his
beautiful bronze fur. We got Dongdi from a local breeder. He is the second
born of his litter and he was the most quiet and shy one... Until he
became somewhere around eight months old, and he became a vocal, naughty
puppy who likes to be dominant and challenging.
What makes Dongdi a special dog is that he has a lot of personality. For
example, when I said "No, bad puppy!" to stop him messing around, he'd
walk to my mom or my aunt and starts "arrrwoooo" then stares at me.
As if he is saying that "Mom! Dennis is bullying me again!" He is also a
big coward. He'd actually hide underneath me when he was scared by the
Halloween fireworks. Such a puppy. We love him!
