Bugsy, the Dog of the Day
Name: Bugsy
Age: One and a half years old
Gender: Male Breed: Jack Russell Terrier
Border Collie mix
Home: Western New York, USA

Bugsy is a mix between a Jack Russell Terrier (Dad) and a Border Collie (Mom). He has the strong legs of the Jack Russell and the loyal qualities of the Border Collie. Also has a very unique tail. He is such a good dog and enjoys catching frisbees and of course loves to go "Bye Bye" in the car.

Bugsy is a very lovable type. As a little puppy we were worried about his legs because of his breed. He would limp all the time because he had a border collie body and Jack Russell Terrier legs. He grew out of that and he is a very healthy boy. He has a lot of nicknames like bear, buzzy, buggie, baby boy etc... His tricks consist of jumping as high as you stand, if he gets a grip on a frisbee you can lift him right off the ground, he has a very tight grip. For treats he will sit, shake, roll over, and my favorite, if you hold a treat in the air and spin it around he will stand on two legs and go in circles in such a dainty style. We tell him to dance for us, and that is what he does. We didn't even teach him that. When we take him bye-bye if you tell him to get in the back he listens the first time. If you tell him to get in the back-back, he will lay in the back window. We don't even have to have the door open for him to get in if the window is down that is how he enters. His vocabulary is impressive too. If you say want to go bye-bye he gets all excited and sits by the door, however if you say do you want to get a bath he will lay on his back, he does the same if you say want to go to the vet. He also knows want to go for a walk, he will go stand by his leash.

One time my boyfriend (his daddy) came here on Christmas with a Santa Claus suit and Bugsy was so scared he clearly said no no no. If you say "Bugsy, get the mouse" he will go in every spot there has ever been a mouse in our house. Instead of the cats doing it he gets them. The good thing about Bugsy is how well he listens, when we go bye-bye we can pull into a park and roll down the window and he will jump out and do his thing then get right back in through the window. People kinda look at us funny when we do that but he is such a good boy. We are looking for any others like him out there!
